How to take part in BASKET 3

Registration to enter BASKET3 is free, every 1st and 2nd grade school can participate in both the male and female category, the school will participate in the male category in the case of a mixed male/female team.

 form No. 1 that has to be compiled in every part and forwarded to the Organisation Secretariat within and not later than 31/03/2010, and anticipated by fax to the number shown in the form and then sent by post to the address that is also indicated in the form.

Separate school departments and the coordinated schools of both junior and senior secondary schools, in addition to the principal school centres, will be able to participate independently, subject to authorisation by the school administration and by forwarding a separate registration application form.

The Organisation Secretariat reserves the right to limit the number of participations in view of the high number of registration applications received for the past editions and due to objective timing and physical limits, and recommends submitting the registration application for BASKET3 as early as possible.

The tournament

The first phase of BASKET3 is dedicated to the internal school tournament, in which each school will designate the teams representing the school in the two categories, male and female, according to the methods the school considers to be most appropriate, based on an internal tournament or selection of the school's best players.

The SCHOOL PHASE must be concluded within and no later than 31/03/2010. Then there is the mandatory requirement at the end of this phase, and however within and no later than 30/04/2010, for the schools to forward form No. 2 by FAX; the form must be duly compiled, indicating the names of the participants together with all the requested information.

The Organisation Secretariat will communicate promptly the logistic instructions to take part in the PROVINCIAL PHASE.

This phase will be organised between 06/04/2010 and 30/4/2010. The PROVINCIAL PHASE will designate the teams, one team per category, which will participate in the INTER-REGIONAL PHASE to be organised between 01/05/2010 and 23/05/2010.

The teams, divided by category, taking part in the National Finals will be selected from among the schools with the teams that win the INTER-REGIONAL PHASES.

The NATIONAL PHASE will award the title of ITALIAN CHAMPIONS to the four teams that win their respective categories.

All costs for transfers will be borne by the organisation, starting from the inter-regional phase. The Secretariat reserves the right to change the dates of the Provincial, Inter-regional and National Phases for organisational and logistic reasons.
